Overview
Senior ELV Engineer is responsible for leading the design, integration, and delivery of ICT and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems across projects. This role ensures compliance with local and international standards, supports cross-disciplinary coordination, and drives high-quality, efficient, and scalable solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Apply local and international standards relevant to ICT and ELV systems, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Lead the design and integration of ICT/ELV systems including structured cabling, telecommunications, security, audiovisual, BMS, and fire alarm systems.
- Manage the full design lifecycle from concept to completion, aligning solutions with client requirements, budgets, and project objectives.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Conduct design reviews, calculations, and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables.
- Review and approve drawing packages and technical documentation before distribution.
- Develop schematic diagrams and detailed layouts for ICT/ELV systems, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
- Coordinate with MEP, Structural, and Fire & Life Safety disciplines for seamless system integration.
- Collaborate with subconsultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure requirements are accurately reflected in design packages.
- Manage REVIT models and work closely with BIM teams to resolve clashes and ensure proper integration.
- Provide timely technical responses to client queries, reviewer comments, and approval requirements.
- Support commissioning and handover of ICT/ELV systems, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of local codes and regulations.
- Ensure all work is delivered to the highest standard and within deadlines.
- Proactively identify and suggest improvements to systems (QA/QC).
- Keep the Lead Engineer updated on progress and program status.
- Identify potential coordination or technical issues early and escalate to leads.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Communication & Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ICT/ELV design and engineering.
- Experience in UAE and GCC projects especially Dubai.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and calculation spreadsheets.
- Thorough knowledge of ICT/ELV systems design, integration, and compliance standards.
