We are seeking a detail-oriented Facade Designer to support the design and technical development of building facades. The role focuses on producing high-quality design documentation and assisting in the development of facade systems under the guidance of senior team members. The candidate will collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure design intent, performance, and coordination across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Develop facade design concepts and assist in detailed design development in line with architectural direction.
- Produce drawings, 3D models, and documentation for facade systems (e.g., curtain walls, cladding, glazing).
- Support coordination with structural, MEP, and sustainability teams to integrate facade solutions.
- Assist in material research and basic evaluation of facade systems for cost, performance, and constructability.
- Contribute to facade performance considerations (thermal, acoustic, and basic environmental analysis with guidance).
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings, mock-ups, and site installation under supervision.
- Support senior designers in resolving technical design issues.
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in facade design or building envelope work
- Good understanding of facade systems (curtain walls, cladding, glazing assemblies)
- Ability to develop designs from architectural intent with moderate supervision
- Familiarity with basic performance and buildability considerations
- Software skills: AutoCAD (2D/3D), Revit; Rhino/SketchUp is a plus
- Strong coordination skills and willingness to learn from senior team members
