Overview

This is a full-time on-site role located in Makati for a Senior Architect. The role sits within STUDIOI’s Technical Design team and is responsible for leading the design and technical development of projects from Schematic Design through Issued-for-Construction documentation. The Senior Architect will provide design leadership across a portfolio of projects, mentor junior team members, and serve as a key interface between design intent and technical delivery. The successful candidate will bring strong design sensibility, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to drive project quality within a fast-paced, multi-office environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and documentation from SD through IFC across multiple concurrent projects
• Champion design quality and ensure alignment between design intent, client brief, and technical output
• Coordinate with internal discipline leads (structure, MEP, facades, interiors) and external consultants to resolve cross-disciplinary design issues
• Prepare, review, and issue architectural drawing packages including floor plans, sections, elevations, details, and specifications
• Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and submittal packages during design and construction phases
• Conduct design and coordination reviews, maintaining a live register of open items and ensuring timely resolution
• Support BIM coordination efforts, reviewing federated models for design accuracy and clash identification
• Mentor and technically guide intermediate and junior architects within the team
• Assist in preparing design presentations, design development reports, and client deliverables
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, authority requirements, and project-specific standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution; professional licensure or eligibility preferred
• Minimum 8 years of post-graduation experience in architectural practice, with a demonstrated track record of design and technical delivery
• Proficiency in architectural design principles across a range of asset classes (residential, civic, hospitality, commercial)
• Advanced skill in production and coordination of architectural drawing sets and construction documentation
• Hands-on working proficiency with BIM software (Revit preferred); experience with federated model coordination is advantageous
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, materials, building envelope systems, and detailing
• Working knowledge of relevant building codes and authority submission processes (UAE, GCC, or Southeast Asia experience a plus)
• Effective communicator with the ability to present design intent clearly to clients, consultants, and contractors
• Proven ability to manage workload across multiple projects simultaneously and meet milestone deadlines
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization tools (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape) is advantageous
• Collaborative team player with the initiative and maturity to operate with a degree of autonomy
